What do we already know about the Volkswagen Caddy?

The Volkswagen Caddy is well known for its strong presence in the market for a couple of decades now. The Caddy has been one of the best small vans available and now with its new updated range which is set to release in 2025 it looks set to shake things up even further. This new range will debut numerous innovations, a revamped style and be available in 3 versions: normal, long maxi and as a panel van which is aimed at delivery services and small business. The new caddy range will also feature a plug-in-hybrid as well as being available in 5 or 7 seats.

Exterior Caddy Updates:

The new Volkswagen Caddy is marketed in white however it is set to be released in a wide range of 9 colour options, all of which the front and rear bumpers will match the colour of the vehicle.  It is shown to be a sportier model then the previous one that released in 2022.

On the side and rear of the vehicle there will be lettering which identifies the edition model. The Caddy will be equipped with 17” inch alloy wheels as standard and optionally available with 18” inch alloy wheels. On the Caddy Edition the stunning alloys are paired with LED light units in both the front and the rear and privacy glass which can give you that sense of security you need.

The new range will feature a black ventilation grille on the front, complemented by black mirror covers, a black roof and various other black components such as a rear spoiler and roof rails. There are choices like having a panoramic sunroof and there will be many other optional extras depending on which model from the range you choose. It is noted that more vehicle specifications are to follow and be confirmed.

Caddy interior and technology updates:

The digital instrumentation in all the models is largely improved with its greater infotainment systems. There will be a 10” inch display, cruise control, park assistance control, driver attention and drowsiness monitor and drivers’ assistance systems which includes dynamic road sign display. All the models of the Caddy will have the option to feature artificial intelligence (AI) with a Chat GPT functionality.

The new Cargo models will benefit from additional curtain and side airbags, multifunction camera, a tyre pressure monitor, lane assist and front assist with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring.

Caddy Performance:

The new range will feature a new Plug-In-Hybrid system that is equipped with a 19.7 kWh battery and has a range of 122 kilometres – this is based on the 1.5 I TSI engine. It uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor with a combined output power of 150 horsepower.

 The Caddy engine range is having a massive update and what follows is exciting changes. Two TSI petrol engines with 85kW, optionally fitted with manual or automatic gearboxes. A pair of TDI engines with outputs of 75kW and a 90kW version will be available. There will be a 4MOTION all-wheel drive variation which is yet to have its spec confirmed.
