About the Motability Scheme
The Motability Scheme makes driving a brand-new car simple and worry-free. With a new vehicle every three years, the scheme includes servicing and maintenance, fully comprehensive insurance for two named drivers, RAC breakdown cover and road tax all in one package. You’ll also benefit from a generous 60,000-mile allowance and access to a wide range of adaptations, often at low or no cost.

Why does the Motability Scheme make sense for you?
The Motability Scheme differs from ordinary vehicle leasing in a few ways. First of all, you could technically lease a vehicle without having to pay a penny towards the lease costs. That’s because your eligible mobility benefits from the DWP get used as payment.
Secondly, a Motability Scheme lease covers all your motoring costs (excluding fuel). When you lease a vehicle under the Motability Scheme, it will pay for insurance and can cover up to three people, including yourself.
That means you don’t even need to be a motorist to lease a vehicle through the Motability Scheme. Technically, you could have a spouse, partner, family member, friend or anyone that cares for you drive the vehicle that you lease.
Also included is servicing and maintenance costs, windscreen repairs and replacement, and even tyre repairs. Motability Scheme leases also include breakdown cover for added peace of mind when you’re out on the road.
As mentioned, the only cost that isn’t covered is fuel. Still, today’s modern fuel-efficient vehicles mean you won’t spend much money putting petrol or diesel in your new vehicle!
