1 in 20 children are born with a disability. 1 in 6 children are living in poverty. Circus Starr aims to bring families together for an enjoyable day out some rarely experience and we are delighted to be part of it.
Circus Starr is a touring circus, based in Congleton, boasting world-class, professional artists from across the globe. Founded in 1987, the charity puts on their world-class show right across the country, working with children’s hospices and hospitals, Young Carers, foster children, SEN schools and Women’s Refuges to bring joy into the lives of children, who often have little to look forward to.
Circus Starr is a not-for-profit organisation and hosts circus shows at seventy five venues, three times a year.
Since January 2016 Swansway Motor Group’s collaboration with Circus Starr has meant that for every Motability Scheme vehicle sold across the group, we donate a pair of tickets worth £20, for a child and their carer to go to the Circus.
In the very first year of our collaboration together, as a group we sold over 600 Motability vehicles meaning we donated an amazing £13,200 enabling 660 children and their carers to attend a Circus show!
At Swansway Motor Group, we target our charitable giving towards children and young people, as director David Smyth explained, “As a family owned and run business, we know how important families are and we know that some families and children face real challenges. Circus Starr brings fun and magic into the lives of these children, I’ve seen the smiles and heard the laughter, I know, at first hand, what a fantastic job this charity does. I’m proud that Swansway has helped create magical memories for hundreds of children”.We have been so impressed with the Circus Starr programme that we have made the decision to continue our partnership with them, and continue donating £20, the equivalent of a ticket for one child and their carer, for every vehicle sold on the Motability scheme here at Swansway.
