Taking the roof down and having the wind blowing through your hair when the sun eventually comes out – that’s a difficult sensation to beat.

Find the right drop-top for you before the warmer and sunnier weather (hopefully) hits later in the year.

Here’s a selection of the convertibles and cabriolets on offer through our dealers – each coming with their own unique selling point.

Audi TT Roadster

The compact two-seater has been a hit since it was introduced in 1998.

Now much sharper to look at than its forbearers, the current TT Roadster is sharper to drive as well.

Offered in the sporty TTS and RS setups, the Roadster comes crammed with quality features so you don’t feel short-changed. And with the choice between smaller yet still punchy offerings and the top-end speed demons, you aren’t lacking in selections to pick from.

Jaguar F-Type Convertible

As a modern British icon, the Jaguar F-Type is a great-looking convertible option.

Available with a 5.0-litre V8 engine developing 568bhp, you can also plum for a 295bhp 2.0-litre engine that’s still capable of getting you from 0-60mph in 5.4 seconds – so even that model is no slouch.

Offered in four different trims, you’ve got plenty of F-Type options to choose from – with each including an impressive level of kit from the £59,540 starting point.

Peugeot 108 Top! Cabrio

Offered in the city car market, the 108 Top! Cabrio is a fun urban run-around that comes with the summery advantage of a sliding roof.

Fitted with a peppy 1.0-litre petrol engine, you can enjoy warmer city days while nipping in and out of the streets.

It’s also fitted with a good level of equipment for a car at a relatively low price point. Active city brake, a reversing camera and lane departure warning are all on offer here, as well as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet

If you want the seating position of a crossover but want that open air feeling, Volkswagen has the model for you.

The T-Roc may not be the first model you expect to come with a folding roof, but Volkswagen has fit the brief and it comes packed with kit.

It remains fit for four occupants and is available with a wide array of kit, including a 10.25-inch customisable instrument display, parking sensors and other driver assistance systems.

Audi R8 Spyder

We saved arguably the best for last – the R8 Spyder.

The super-sharp supercar is fitted with a 5.2-litre V10 engine that develops a whopping 563bhp and is paired to a fast-shifting automatic transmission to get the car from 0-60mph in just 3.3 seconds. Its top speed is an incredible 200mph, as well.

It also comes remarkably well-equipped for the £136,985 starting price. 19-inch alloys are teamed to a striking body kit, while you get a digital instrument display and all mod-cons inside as well.
