Meet the new Audi A5 range.
Out with the old and in with the new! Audi have announced a brand-new generation of A5 models with a fresh look and design resulting in a brand-new generation.
The latest changes are in keeping with Audi’s new line up, going forward all even number models will be electric whilst the odd numbers represent models with a traditional combustion engine. This means that the new A5 range will be replacing the bestselling Audi A4 models. Both the Audi A5 Saloon and Avant will feature a sporty redesign, an updated interior and innovative technology.
The ’S’ models are also receiving the same treatment! Audi have also launched the brand-new S5 Saloon and S5 Avant. The new ‘S’ range will benefit from the same fantastic updates as well as an extra dose of power and performance.
What can we expect from the new A5 models?
The brand-new Audi A5 range has an all-new look. The exterior has a powerful and clean design which is in fitting with Audi’s other recent releases such as the Audi Q6 e-tron . Each new model features the wide single frame grille which is iconic across Audi’s recent design language. Aerodynamics has also been central to the design of the new A5 range, the door handles are now flush to the bodywork and sharp side lines have been added to create a sportier appearance.
The new A5 range also features updated headlight technology, including the digital daytime running lights with LED technology at the front and second-generation digital OLED rear lights behind the cars. The new headlights are not only incredibly bright but increase safety on the road through the new communication light.
What can we expect from the new A5 range engines?
The brand-new range will feature Audi’s all new MHEV plus system. This Mild Hybrid technology will feature a 48-volt on-board electrical system that supports the combustion engine and dramatically reduce CO2 emission. This will be achieved by a powertrain generator enabling partially electric driving that will in turn reduce fuel consumption.
Not only will the mild hybrid technology be more environmentally friendly but will dramatically increase performance. The 0-62 mph acceleration time will be impressive at 6.9 seconds for both the A5 Saloon and A5 Avant . The power output and torque are equally as impressive at 204 PS and 400 Mn, respectively.
What changes can be found in the interior?
The interior of all models in the new A5 range centres around a combination of impressive technology and comfort. The interior has a human-centric design as all choices have been geared towards the needs of the users. The amount technology included in the interior is incredibly impressive. There are a total of three infotainment screens, this includes the 11.9” Audi virtual cockpit display which sits behind the steering wheel, the huge, central 14.5” MII display and a further 10.9” display for passengers to use and enjoy entertainment on.
Other impressive uses of technology include the multi-colour, high-contrast heads-up display. This projects essential information including vehicle speed, navigation assistance and keep car information onto the windscreen into the driver’s direct field of vision.
What can we expect from the new Audi S5 models?
The new changes to the Audi A5 range also reflect into the ‘S’ model range. For the first time, the Audi S5 will be available as a sleek Saloon and practical Avant. The new models take the best attributes from both the previous S4 and S5 ranges and combine with new updated technology, impressive styling, and all-new features.
The new Audi S5 Saloon and S5 Avant will feature a punchy petrol engine that can sprint from 0-62 mph in just 4.5 seconds. Not only is it quick off the mark, but the power output is also equally impressive at 367 PS with 550 Nm of torque.
When will the new Audi A5 range be launching?
Audi revealed the impressive new range of A5 models on 16th July 2024. This came after an exciting and long-awaited secrecy period.
