Three seats in the back and room for all your kit means fewer trips and everyone getting to the job on time.

The Volkswagen Caddy Maxi kombi is a versatile vehicle that offers up a lot of options. If you’re looking to transport up to five people and their kit, then the Caddy Maxi Kombi offers everything you need. It features everything you’d expect from a Caddy but offers an extra three seats and a significant cargo area.

Starting in 2005, the Volkswagen Caddy shared a lot of parts with the Golf Mk5 and Touran. The idea was to make an aerodynamic vehicle compared to previous editions – these previous editions would have more vertical windshields and other non-aerodynamic elements.

The fresher edition arrived in 2013. This newer VW Caddy was a compact vehicle that was necessary for harboring bodies and equipment while maintaining car-like convenience and design. It’s available to be used as a van or as a seven-seater people carrier. The ergonomics, reliability, and spaciousness mean it is very easy to drive by all accounts. The features included are the likes of a height-adjustable driver’s seat, rubber flooring covering, a radio CD player with two speakers, AUX connectivity, and an anti-dazzle rear-view mirror.

The 2020 model is the first VW commercial vehicle that uses the MQB platform. It has more passenger-type characteristics in order to become more of a domestic vehicle for that of an entrepreneur or a contractor. The idea is to make it less like a van and more like a domestic family car – there is even an infotainment unit with a touchscreen. In its longest variant, it can be filled with two Euro pallets of cargo – through the rear doors or via a sideways method. Bolder and sharper exterior design and completely new car-like dashboard with high-quality interior finish underpin the Caddy's cutting-edge appeal.

The Caddy Maxi kombi can transform from a comfortable five-seater into a spacious delivery van. it has a load capacity of 1.6m3 with the rear seats in place, 3.9m3 with them folded and 4.1m3 if you remove them. Featuring a robust rubber floor covering the cab and cargo area, as well as four load-lashing rings.

DAB+ radio and Bluetooth® as standard, the colour composition 5" touchscreen radio system puts cutting-edge infotainment options at your fingertips.

Standard features including Automatic Post-Collision braking, Side and curtain airbags, Electronic Stability Control and ABS to ensure the highest possible levels of safety.

In terms of the engines available, the Caddy will have two options that come in the form of 1.6 and 2.0-liter capacities. The 1.6-liter TDI comes with outputs of 75 and 102PS. The lower output model possesses around 225Nm of torque, while the higher output will have that of 250Nm. With regard to the 2.0-liter TDI, you’ll get either 110PS or 140PS – with the 110PS version providing 280nM of torque. If you choose the 140PS version, you’ll get upwards of 320Nm.

The smaller 1.6-liter TDI comes with either a five-speed manual or a DSG automatic transmission. The 2.0 is identical in terms of the automatic transmission but has an extra gear regarding the stick shift.
