The Audi SQ8 is one of the newest models to be added to the Audi range. A sporty version of the Q8, it was first released in 2019, featuring the most powerful diesel engine on the European market. The tri-charged diesel V8 gives 435 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque so, although it's a large SUV, it can accelerate like a sports car and get to 62 mph in only 4.8 seconds. The twin turbo-charged 3.0-litre V8 benefits from the turbos being supplemented by an electrically powered compressor at low revs. When the car decelerates, the system feeds power to the small lithium-ion battery.
This larger SUV is ideal for anyone looking for more space. Although it doesn't have a third row of seats like some other options, there is still plenty of space, whether for adults or children in car seats. With the back seats folded down, there is also a lot of space for luggage. Combined with the speed, performance, and all-wheel drive, this SUV is a practical car that handles well. For even better off-road performance, the Vorsprung model is a good pick.
Unlike some models that have been around for longer, the Audi SQ8 is available in only two trim levels, standard, and Vorsprung. The standard SQ 8 has 22" x 10.0J' 5-twin-spoke V' design alloy wheels, and HD Matrix LED headlights with dynamic front and rear indicators, and lighting animations. It also includes the Audi Virtual Cockpit and MMI Navigation plus, while the interior features Super Sports seats in Valcona leather. S-specific Adaptive air suspension creates a smoother ride too.
The Vorsprung trim level has additional benefits, including 22" x 10.0J' 5-V-Spoke star' design alloy wheels, a panoramic glass sunroof, front seat ventilation and massage function, a Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound system and all-wheel steering. The engine remains the same in both options, with both offering powerful performance.
The standard finish is a solid night black, with an optional extra of solid pure white. A range of metallic paint finishes is available too, including Barrique brown, Dragon orange, Floret silver, and Galaxy blue. Daytona grey pearl effect offers another option, while Audi exclusive paint finishes can also be added for a few thousand extra. Interiors can be customised too, with Arras red, black, and Rotor grey leather seats available. The dashboard, carpet, and headliner are also styled in black leather.
Standard seat comfort features on the base trim level include power-adjustable lumbar support in the front seats, which are also electrically adjustable and heated. Standard on the Vorsprung trim level includes front seat ventilation with massage function and heated seats in both the front and rear. The Comfort and Sound Pack comes as standard with the Vorsprung, but can be added to the base level trim too. Equipment and accessories can be customised in a variety of different ways.
