Exceptional Exterior Design

From the powerful proportions to the dynamic front, with its precise lines to the pronounced shoulders. The expressive silhouette of the new Tiguan further emphasises the strengths of this SUV: innovative power, sovereignty and uncompromising functionality!

The Tiguan shines bright thanks to the LED tail light clusters and the optional IQ.LIGHT. LED matrix headlights. The newest Tiguan is also the fourth Volkswagen to feature this new technology. Eye-catching, but not dazzling, the LED lights increase the range of vision and improve visibility when driving at night, and in fog. The bumper's have redesigned air curtains ensure optimal airflow and the rear end is accentuated by a new horizontal LED strip for a distinctive look.

Interior Design

The new Tiguan boasts a generous interior, a perfect space for forward thinkers. Space is not a problem in this vehicle, and with the optional Easy Open function you can use your foot to open the boot hands-free. Making large and awkward objects easy to load into the back of the boot, and with up to 652 litres of space you are bound to fit anything and everything in.

Inside, the Tiguan offers a new and intuitive cockpit design. High-quality materials and craftsmanship elevate the interior’s standards. The new Digital Cockpit features anti-reflective coating and a tablet landscape format. The 15-inch infotainment screen boasts a fresh menu structure and graphics. Additional features include a heads-up display, a multifunction driving experience switch with an OLED display and the new IDA voice assistant for easy control of various vehicle functions. Brand-new ergoActive seats with pneumatic four-way lumbar adjustment and pneumatic 10-chamber pressure massage function are a perfect match for the high-quality character of the Tiguan. In addition, there is a programming function for automatic activation of the seat heating or seat ventilation at certain outside temperatures.

Technology

The brand new Tiguan is packed with great technology, which allows you to smoothly get to where you need to go. The Tiguan is equipped with a large number of convenience and assist systems as standard. In addition to Side Assist, Front Assist, Lane Assist and the Rear-View camera system, there is also the Dynamic Road Sign Display. There will also be an extensive range of optional systems. These include; Park Assist Pro with remote parking capability (for automatic driving into and out of parking spaces controlled by the driver from outside the vehicle using a smartphone app) or also Trailer Assist (for assisted manoeuvring with a trailer).

Performance

There will be a range of economical and high-performing engines fitted to the all-new Tiguan, thanks to the versatile MQB platform. There are currently 1.5 litre TSI petrol and 2.0 litre TDI diesel engines available, with the plans to add a petrol plug-in hybrid model, capable of traveling up to 62 miles on a single charge, to the range.

Now in its third generation, the latest Tiguan showcases Volkswagen’s most progressive technology to date, including a fully updated interior with a digital cockpit, a large infotainment touchscreen and an advanced head-up display. The revised plug-in hybrid powertrain offers an impressive electric-only range of up to 60 miles on a single charge. As one of Volkswagen’s most successful models, the Tiguan continues to set the standard in the compact SUV segment. With its latest upgrades now available across the range, the new Tiguan takes this hugely popular model to the next level.

A new design and improved aerodynamics

The exterior of the Tiguan has been completely updated with a brand-new design. Flat LED headlights have been added which are connected by a glass-covered horizontal strip. The radiator grille is positioned at the outer sides of the bumper with air curtains for efficient airflow.

The third generation Tiguan is slightly larger than its predecessor. It is just 3cm longer and slightly taller, but the bodywork and higher bonnet make the new model appear larger and more impressive. The big changes to the exterior design are in relation to the aerodynamics. The new Tiguan has one of the best drag coefficient figures of any SUV on the market. This has been achieved by softening the edges, adding new air curtains and making the roof rails slimmer.

New Generation Infotainment System

The interior of the all-new Tiguan is where the big changes can really be noticed. The dashboard has been completely updated and looks incredibly striking and futuristic. The interior space has been improved with quality materials being used to create a premium feeling.

A brand-new infotainment touchscreen has also been added, as standard there is a 12.9” version with the option to upgrade to a huge 15” screen. Both screen options are very responsive and create a great focal point to the centre of the dashboard. Although some may think that the 15” screen is too large, it is fantastic option for those who prioritise their tech! Another addition is the Multicoloured Ambient Lighting throughout the interior which runs across the dashboard to the doors. This creates a personalised environment and allows the driver to customise how the interior looks.

Additional Interior Space and Features

The boot space in the new Volkswagen Tiguan is slightly larger than the previous model. The boot now has a capacity of 652 litres and features the drop-down floor to make loading and transporting large items easier. Rear seat levers have also been added, this handy new feature makes dropping the rear seats much easier.

The rear seats have also been redesigned with updates to the centre armrest. It now features a pull-out tray table with pop-up cup holders. The tray can also be titled for easier use. Another great feature that has been added to the all-new Tiguan is the wireless charging pad for two phones to charge your phone when the car is running and two USB-C phone chargers in the front and two in the back.

The new generation of the Tiguan appears to be the first example of Volkswagen blending together it’s standard range with the all-electric ID models. Until now there has been huge differences between the two powertrain varieties but Volkswagen now appear to be blending the ranges together. With a much larger electric range for its plug-in hybrid variants and innovative technology, the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan really has been taken to the next level.
