Since entering the UK market back in 2023, BYD (Build Your Dreams) have become an extremely popular brand. With cars rolling off the production line, the Chinese manufacturer boast excellent sales since the release of the Atto 3 and many drivers are turning to this innovative, all-electric firm. Due to their aim of making cars that are affordable and environmentally friendly, BYD have gained popularity at an exponential rate.
BYD have done many things to gain a more than positive reputation in the industry thus far, and one of those is making their trim levels easy for customers to consume and understand. Delivering the five trims by letters, using the alphabet is a fascinating way of gathering pace in the market. If your trim levels are easy to understand, more people will engage with your company. Starting at Active, the manufacturer’s entry-level trim, all the way through to Excellence with Boost, Comfort and Design in between - the five trim levels all hold significance.
Best for drivers who want faster and stronger performance, but aren’t so worried about the extra infotainment features, then the Design trim is for you. Being one below the top trim, BYD’s Design variant comes at a more luxurious price tag to that of Active, Boost and Comfort but is also still not the brands most prestige variable. From £49,290 (manufacturer direct price), the Design trim will cost more but there are reasons for that, due to its enhanced performance.

Each of the features included with the Comfort version of this car are as standard with the Design variant, but on top of that buyers can expect many exciting additions that will give them a more premium feel when on the road. Offering AWD performance and excellent technology, the price of this model pays off. Unlike the Comfort version getting from 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds, this does that in just 4.5. With more range (283 miles - 455 km) and a stronger battery capacity (82.5 kWh BYD Blade Battery) the Design trim will excel in every department.
All features in the Design are also included with BYD’s Comfort trim, but below is some added extras:
