SEAL Performance

Performance has been a priority when designing the SEAL. The powerful electric motor of 390kw (which is around 522 horsepower) and four-wheel drive, available with the Excellence edition, allowing the SEAL to sprint from 0-62 mph in just 3.8 seconds. This creates an exhilarating driving experience, perfect for your next road trip.

The SEAL brings increased capacity and range to the BYD lineup. Offering an impressive range of up to 354 miles due to BYD’s Blade Battery with capacity of 82.5 kWh. Rapid charging can also be accomplished with 10%- 80% charge being reached in just 37 minutes.

BYD Seal Trim Levels

Differing from other BYD models, the Seal, has just two trim levels - Design Trim and Excellence Trim. With the Excellence being the more prestige of the two trims, you’ll find slightly more advanced technology and varying features on this version as opposed to the Design, including all-wheel-drive which significantly boosts performance, making it a powerful option.

Further to the increased standard specification of the Excellence, it also benefits from unique powertrain and chassis specifications. Its two-motor, all-wheel drive configuration develops 523bhp and 670Nm of torque, resulting in a 0-62mph time of just 3.8 seconds, while semi-adaptive suspension technology features variable frequency dampers. The Design features a single motor driving the rear wheels. Maximum output stands at 308bhp and 360Nm of torque, which results in a 0-62mph time of 5.9 seconds. Both models are limited to a top speed of 112mph.

BYD’s industry-leading blade battery – with a cobalt-free Lithium Iron-Phosphate (LFP) chemistry – remains a key distinguishing feature of the new SEAL. Its capacity of 82.5kWh results in a WLTP range of 354 miles for the Design trim, and 323 miles for the Excellence. Rapid charging is made possible by a 150kW peak speed; a 10%-80% recharge takes 37 minutes.
