Audi have launched the brand-new S5 Saloon. Taking the best from the Audi S4 and Audi S5 ranges, the new model will be built on the all-new Premium Platform Combustion and will have a more efficient combustion engine than ever before.
In line with the updates to the brand-new Audi A5 Saloon, the S5 is available for the first time as a sporty, four-door saloon. The new model will perfectly combine athleticism, style and practicality. The new design offers additional sportiness, an enhanced exterior and a newly updated digitalised interior. The new S5 Saloon is a performance car with maximum versatility.
Power and performance is central to Audi’s ‘S’ range, and the S5 Saloon is no exception. With a 0-62 mph sprint time of just 4.5 seconds, there is no doubt that the S5 Saloon is quick.
The Audi S5 Saloon has been designed to be dynamic and sporty whilst remaining functional. The aerodynamics play a big part with shaped air inlets and a reduced bumper design resulting in increased power and speed. Sleek black styling has been fitted as standard to the window trims, door mirror housing and door handles allowing the S5 to make an impact. In line with Audi’s new design language, the S5 Saloon now features anthracite grey Audi rings which is a stylish improvement on the traditional black rings found on previous generations of the Audi S models.
Other notes to the sporty styling include red painted brake calipers as standard, twin hot exhausts and darkened rear windows. The alloy wheels have also been designed to impress, sitting at 20 inches in the Audi sport metallic black design.
No expense has been spared when designing the interior of the Audi S5 Saloon. The seats are finished in the Fine Nappa leather and feature the lavish massage function, memory function and ventilation. The rear seats also get their own luxurious heating element, which is the perfect compliment to the leather coverings.
A new feature for Audi is the impressive ‘softwrap’. This can be found within the Audi A5 Saloon’s interior and cocoons the interior, extending seamlessly from the doors to the digital stage on which the all new infotainment screens sit. The digital stage includes the redesigned 11.9” digital Audi virtual cockpit display, the 14.5” Audi MMI panoramic display and a 10.9” passenger display that provides entertainment without distractions.
Other impressive uses of technology is the heads-up display which projects important information into the driver’s direct eyeline, and the Bang and Olufsen 3D surround sound system with in headrest speakers. This allows for a personal listening experience and provides navigational instructions without interrupting other passengers.
