• Wrexham car dealership donates £575 to support community theatre production
• Funding helps bring ‘Welcome to the Willows’ to life for performers and locals
• Local partnership highlights Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham’s support for grassroots
Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham has donated £575 to Bitesize Youth Theatre Wrexham to support their upcoming community musical production, ‘Welcome to the Willows’, inspired by the much loved story of The Wind in the Willows.
The funding will help cover production costs for the show, which is set to take place in February 2026 and will bring together young performers, volunteers and audiences from across the local area.
Bitesize Youth Theatre will stage six performances across the week, with audiences expected to total around 500 people.
The production will involve two casts of 33 children, supported by a backstage team of 17 and a further 30 to 40 community volunteers. Five of the young performers will also be using the production to gain credits towards their BTEC Performing Arts course.
The sponsorship forms part of Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham’s ongoing commitment to supporting grassroots projects and community organisations close to home, in Wrexham.

Chris Evans, Head of Business at Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham, said:
“It’s great to be able to support the Bitesize Youth Theatre and the fantastic work they do for young people in Wrexham. Community theatre gives children confidence, creativity and teamwork skills that stay with them for life and it’s great to play a small part in helping bring this production to the stage.”
Linda, from the Bitesize Youth Theatre Wrexham, said:
“We’re incredibly grateful for the support from Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham. This donation helps us keep our productions accessible and gives our young performers the chance to be part of something special, supported by the wider community.”
The partnership highlights how local businesses and community groups can work together to create opportunities for young people and bring live theatre to local audiences.
