Swansway Motor Group has announced a significant investment in its electric vehicle infrastructure, expanding their internal EV charging network to more than 100 charging points during 2025.

The upgrade supports the group’s rapidly growingelectric vehicle sales performance and underlines Swansway Motor Group’s long term commitment to electrification across their dealerships. The charging points are installed for internal use only, enabling technicians, vehicle preparation teams and operational staff to support a higher volume of EVs efficiently across the group’s dealership network.

The infrastructure expansion follows a sharp increase in EV demand from retail customers. Fully electric vehicles accounted for 11% of Swansway Motor Group’s total vehicle sales in 2025, up from 6% the previous year. This represents an 83% year on year increase in EV sales, reflecting rapidly growing customer confidence in electric motoring. Swansway Motor Group achieved 11% of its total sales from fully electric models, underlining the pace of the EV market.

The growth has been driven by strong performance across a range of brands, led by the Audi Q4 e-tron as Swansway Motor Group’s top selling electric model in 2025. The Volkswagen ID.BUZZ also saw strong demand, with the BYD Dolphin rounding out the group’s three best performing electric vehicles for the year.

John Smyth, Director at Swansway Motor Group, said:

“We’ve seen a real acceleration in customer confidence around electric vehicles over the last 18 months and our sales growth reflects that. Expanding our charging point infrastructure is a critical step in supporting our teams and ensuring we’re fully equipped to handle increasing EV volumes across the business.”

John added:

“This investment isn’t just about capacity, it’s about future proofing our operations. By strengthening our internal infrastructure now, we’re making sure we can deliver the standards our customers expect while continuing to grow our EV proposition at pace.”

With EVs now accounting for more than one in ten sales, Swansway Motor Group continues to position itself as a proactive and prepared retailer as the UK automotive market moves further towards electrification.
