Joining the line-up as its halo SUV product, it’s proven an appealing choice, helped further by the introduction of a plug-in hybrid and sportier SQ8 and RSQ8 models. The premium SUV segment is competitive, however, which is why Audi is now back with a refreshed model to ensure it continues to lead the way in this class.
Updated exterior design
Though the design of the current Audi Q8 is far from being outdated, the firm is now back with an upgraded design to help this SUV stand out further.
Key changes include new vertical inlays in Audi’s trademark Singleframe grille, which are used to signal that it’s a range-topping model in its SUV line-up. The air intakes are more prominent now too, while the lower rear bumper and exhausts have been redesigned as well.
New personalisation for the lighting
Audi has always been a pioneer when it comes to its LED lighting, and that continues now with this updated Q8 as well.
There are new digital LED lighting signatures available, with occupants able to choose from four different designs depending on their preferences. The lights are also positioned a bit higher to give the Q8 a more prominent look from the rear. The flagship Vorsprung model of the Q8 also features OLED technology, which brings a greater suite of functions than before.
Fresh choice of colours and wheels
As part of this update on the Q8, Audi has also updated the range of colours and alloys you can choose from on the Q8. Three new shades are available – Sakhir Gold, pictured, along with Ascari Blue and Chilli Red, with all of them being metallic finishes.
There are five new alloy wheels available too, ranging in sizes up to 23 inches depending on specification.
Enhanced technology features
Audi has also updated its technology offering on the latest Q8, with the driver assistance features working more closely with the digital Audi virtual cockpit. This includes where the screen can display a lane change warning, other road users, intersection assistance and even traffic light information.
For the first time, passengers can also use popular apps from third-party providers in the car, including Spotify and Amazon Music. Thanks to over-the-air updates, the range of apps available will continue to increase as well.
Broad choice of engines and trim levels
Audi is continuing to offer a great choice of versions and engines on the Q8, with customers able to choose between the 282bhp 3.0-litre diesel 50 TDI, as well as a 335bhp 3.0-litre petrol 55 TFSI. Those wanting more performance can also choose the 500bhp SQ8, which uses a mighty 4.0-litre V8 engine.
In terms of trim level choice, UK customers can pick between the S line, Black Edition and Vorsprung. Audi will also offer a limited Launch Edition model to mark the upgraded Audi Q8’s introduction.
The 2024 Audi Q8 will go on sale on October 10, with UK pricing still to be confirmed.
