Say hello to the Tindaya

Discovering the NEW Cupra Tindaya: Performance meets Innovation

Taking the title of the newest kid on the block, the Tindaya, soon to be Cupra’s latest addition, is set to turn heads when this explosive model is released - that, something we are not aware of just now. Having been first announced to be revealed at the recent IAA Motability (Munich Motor Show), as it stands the Tindaya is a concept show-car, and there is currently no further information regarding its future status, but it is expected to eventually be turned into production.

What is the Tindaya?

Named after a volcanic mountain on Fuerteventura, the Tindaya showcases Cupra’s vision for the future, emphasising a driver-centric experience with innovative design elements.

As a striking new concept car, Cupra were able to have fun with this model at the IAA Motability 2025 in Munich, representing not only the brand’s extremely bold vision for the future, but also the future of electric mobility. Designed as a sleek, high-performance SUV with a fully electric powertrain, the Tindaya blends minimalist, sculptural aesthetics with advanced, driver-focused technology.

The concept also embodies a clear connection to nature and sustainability while pushing the boundaries of modern automotive design.

The Tindaya’s Interior & Exterior

Inside, Cupra’s new show-car features a futuristic cabin layout with an array of sustainable materials, including intuitive digital interfaces, and a very strong emphasis on comfort and bold design, which in turn delivers great innovation from the car. While still a show car, the Tindaya signals the brand’s clear direction towards an emotional and electrified experience for drivers that massively stand-out from mainstream cars.

Exuding a bold expression of the future with the futuristic design, fused with aerodynamic efficiency. Its sculptured and silhouetted design features a clean look and flowing lines that emphasise movement. Another exciting attribute of the Tindaya is that is boasts great energy which is only bolstered by the car’s sharp edges and geometric accents - both of which give it a distinct modernity and aggressive stance. The word aggressive has been one used to describe many of the brands models - this, something that is a running theme throughout Cupra’s other cars.

The front fascia of the car is dominated by a sleek, illuminated Cupra logo and ultra-slim LED headlights that blend seamlessly into the bodywork, allowing for a sense of precision and intent. The high beltline, muscular wheel arches, and large aerodynamic wheels add sporty, performance-orientated feel, while copper detailing and matte finishes reflect Cupra’s signature styling. Every element of the Tindaya’s exterior is carefully crafted to enhance both aesthetics and performance, positioning it as a standout electric SUV in both form and function.

Power, Performance and Cutting-Edge Technology

Despite it not being in production now, and still being a ‘show-car,’ the Cupra Tindaya combines both cutting-edge electric performance, with extremely advanced technology in order to deliver a driving experience that is both dynamic and intuitive. The intuition delivered with the Tindaya is something Cupra want to nail on delivering, and was a big part of their presentation when sharing the model at IAA Motability 2025.

While specific powertrain details remain very much under wraps, the concept is designed as a fully electric SUV, promising instant torque, ultra smooth acceleration, and a refined ride quality. Built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, the Tindaya is anticipated to offer impressive range and charging capabilities, aligning with Cupra’s performance-focused DNA.

The Tindaya also features a high-tech digital cockpit, with a floating infotainment display, haptic controls, and an augmented reality head-up display that projects key driving data directly onto the windshield. Driver assistance systems are seamlessly integrated, offering features like autonomous driving modes, adaptive cruise control and predictive navigation. The Cupra Tindaya isn’t just about going electric - it’s about reimagining what a connected, emotionally engaging, and intelligent vehicle should be.

Sustainability, Efficiency and Pricing

The Tindaya Concept from Cupra places sustainability and efficiency at the core of its design, reflecting the brand’s commitment to a cleaner, more responsible future of mobility. Built on a fully electric platform, the Tindaya is expected to deliver zero-emissions driving, with energy-efficient systems and regenerative braking, helping to maximise range. The cabin features eco-conscious materials such as recycled fabrics and responsibly sourced trims. All of these things together, help to blend premium aesthetics with environmental responsibility. However, exact efficiency figures and battery specifications haven’t been disclosed - the Tindaya is designed to compete with the leading electric SUVs in terms of range and performance.

As a concept car, pricing has not been officially announced, and it’s not yet confirmed for production. However, if bought to the market, it would likely sit at the higher end of Cupra’s lineup, reflecting its premium positioning, advanced technology and sustainable philosophy.

Cupra Raval in the dark

Cupra Raval: Another Upcoming Model

Cupra haven’t just got the Tindaya as a new concept car, the Raval is still labelled as ‘show-car’ status. This model of Cupra’s, formerly known as the UrbanRebel - is an upcoming all-electric hatch from Cupra, designed to bring a rebellious, youthful spirit to urban mobility. Built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB Small Platform, like the Tindaya, it offers front-wheel-drive, about 166 kW, and can sprint from 0-100km/h in around 6.9 seconds. It’s around 4.03 metres long and focuses heavily on sustainability with materials like recycled polymers, bio-based interiors, lightweight design, and even 3D-knitting/printing techniques. The Raval is expected to go on sale in 2025-2026, built at SEAT’s Martorell plant in Spain.

The brand have confirmed that the Raval will have its world premiere in March 2026 in Barcelona, followed by its market launch shortly after.

Release Date - Is it coming soon?

Currently, the Tindaya doesn’t have a release date, as stated it is classified as a show-car at the moment. Officially unveiled at IAA Motability 2025 in Munich on the 8th September, Cupra emphasised that the Tindaya’s show-car status embodies the future design language. At the show in Munich, Cupra CEO Markus Haupt said “El Cupra Tindaya showcar, va a convertise en realidad,” which rougly translates to “The Cupra Tindaya showcar is going to become reality.” Seemingly though, this was a statement of intent rather than a confirmation of anything concrete.

There is no confirmed date announced for when, or if the Tindaya will be produced for sale. As far as sources go, it remains a concept car, for now. The brand hasn’t confirmed whether it will be moved into a future production, or if the model will launch. Also, with no details of pricing, powertrain specs or availability geographically, we are all left guessing. As soon as we get any information on it, we will source it to you!

Final Thoughts

Since the Tindaya is presented as a vision piece, conceptually it likely influences design tech for future Cupra models. However, converting from concept, production often takes a good few years, so any production for the Tindaya (if it happens) would likely be a way off - and by that it could be close to two or three years.

The fact that Cupra’s CEO expressed that the concept car would become reality suggests a strong internal interest / intent in turning the Tindaya into something more tangible. With the recent announcement that the Cupra Raval is set to premiere in March 2026, it is likely that the Tindaya won’t precede that due to the brand seemingly having more near-term models already queued. With the Tindaya more than a dream and ambition, it is expected that we will one day, see the Tindaya.
