Crewe Alexandra fans had plenty to cheer about on Saturday as the Alex secured a 3-2 win at home against Grimsby Town, the first home victory since the Swansway Family Stand signage was installed at Mornflake Stadium.
The stand’s new name marks the continuation of a local partnership between Crewe Alexandra and Swansway Motor Group, two organisations with deep roots in the town.
The lively game saw the Alex come out on top in front of a full home crowd, with families in the renamed stand enjoying an afternoon of goals and excitement.
“It was the perfect way to celebrate the new Swansway Family Stand, a brilliant result and a great atmosphere. Crewe Alexandra is such an important part of our community and it’s fantastic to see local families enjoying the match together.”
The new signage, which was recently unveiled at the Mornflake Stadium, reflects the shared community values between the club and the Crewe based family car dealer, which has been part of the town for over two decades.
