What do I need when selling my car?
When selling your car to us, there are certain types of information that you will need to have ready when we pick up your car. These are important for us to ensure the car can legally be sold, as well as giving you the best price for your car:
- Proof of Address (bank statement or utility bill)
- Service history (or service book)
- A valid V5C document that confirms your name, address and registration number
- A valid passport or driving license
- At least one working car key (preferably both sets of keys)
- All parts and accessories that originally came with the car
Are there any cars Swansway don’t buy in the North West?
When buying a car from you, we check that there is at least 3 months of valid MOT remaining from the date of receipt, we have been provided with a valid V5C that matches the number plates on your vehicle and that the original number plates are attached. However, there are a number of exceptions that should be taken in to consideration and we won’t buy your car if:
- You have an expired or invalid MOT.
- There is damage to the vehicle, such as electrical, bodywork, or sleering.
- There are large dents or panel holes.
- The car has a different mileage to what you told us or discrepancies.
- There are issues with the history check.
- The car has a different description than initially provided.
- There is extensive, irreparable damage to the vehicle or structural issues.
- Your tyres are not road-worthy or legal.
- There is a previous history of private hire, chauffeur, rental, police, etc.
- There are insurance issues or your car has a written-off status.
- Your car hasn’t been registered in the UK.
