Volkswagen teases new Amarok sketches.

The new pick-up truck - which is set to arrive in the UK next year - is being jointly developed with Ford, following on from the duo’s alliance which was announced back in 2019. As a result of the agreement, the Amarok will likely share its underpinnings with the upcoming Ford Ranger and be manufactured at the Blue Oval’s plant in Silverton, South Africa.

The sketch reveals a bold new look for the Amarok, with a large, square front end incorporating an ultra-large front grille that blends into the headlights. Following on from the previous Amarok, this latest truck also has body-coloured wheel arches and tubular sections in the load bed at the back.

A range of orange accents have been applied to the front of the truck, too, while Volkswagen’s logo sits prominently on the nose.

Though the previous Amarok was famously powered by a punchy turbocharged V6 diesel, there is little to reveal what this new truck will use for propulsion. That said, given its predecessor’s reputation for performance, it’s likely to be a punchy engine.
