Exterior design

Available in a five-door iteration, the Golf GTD boasts bespoke bumpers, lowered body, extended side aprons and honeycomb radiator grille. Contrast is provided by the elegant chrome trim strip that stretches across the front all the way to the striking LED headlights. At the rear of the vehicle, the chrome-plated twin exhaust tailpipe, roof spoiler and LED tail light clusters complete the sporty look.

IQ.LIGHT headlights with LED matrix headlights, fitted with “Dynamic Light Assist” main-beam control, LED tail light clusters and LED front fog lights, as well as dynamic turn signals are all included.

Interior design

A five-person cabin features front sports seats as standard, in "Jacaea" design, offering adjustability and lumbar support, with the option to upgrade to heated seats, or premium sport seats in leather with ventilation and electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

The GTD look is visible in every corner of the interior, most evident on the leather-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel, adorned with the GTD emblem.

To create a distinctively sporty look inside the GTD, stainless steel pedals, decorative trims, hallmark stitching and black headliner set the ambience, whilst LED background lighting adds accents of light in all the right places.

Technology

Home to a 10-inch screen, this screen allows you to easily adjust your driving position, air con, radio, navigation and Driver Assistance systems all in one place. Once logged in, your Golf 8 will remember your preferences. The intelligent head-Up display projects your speedometer and Adapted Cruise Control information straight onto the windshield. As well as having great visibility of the sat-nav and media settings which are displayed on the digital cockpit, which is a high-definition screen that sits right behind the steering wheel. If all thee great features weren't enough, the Golf 8 has voice control that allows you to switch between radio stations, scroll through your address book, or change course on your Sat-Nav all without taking your attention off the road.

Performance

The modern engine technology of the Golf GTD is characterised by its economy, high torque and power. The GTD comes with a 2.0-litre 200PS diesel engine, with a torque of 400 Nm, enables the GTD to go from 0-62mph in approximately 7.1 seconds and achieve a top speed of 152mph, . Nevertheless, it also returns as much as 64.2mpg and a CO2 emission figure as low as 137g/km.

The DSG dual clutch gearbox means you can change seamlessly between the gears and even reduce your fuel consumption.
