What is the scheme?
The Volkswagen Scrappage Upgrade Scheme offers you the chance to trade in your old diesel car (registered on or before 31st December 2009) featuring a Euro 1 - 4 emissions standard engine, whatever make and model it is, and receive up to £6,000 towards a brand new 67 plate Volkswagen.
What happens to my old car?
Your old car will be taken off the road and carefully dismantled to ensure that less clean and efficient vehicles have been taken off the road but also parts will have been recycled where possible to ensure that the scheme is as environmentally friendly as possible.
What contributions are available?
The contributions vary according to the make and model you are going to purchase, they are also not available in conjunction with any other offers available across the Volkswagen range. The contributions available are shown in the table below:

Terms & Conditions - Volkswagen scrappage allowance offer is available on any make or model diesel, first registered in the UK on or before 31st December 2009, featuring a Euro 1 – 4 emissions standard engine and when traded-in against a new car ordered by 31st December 2017 and delivered by 31st March 2018. Trade-in diesel must have been registered in the owner’s name for at least six months. All qualifying vehicles that are traded in will be permanently taken off the road and scrapped.
