What documents will I need to bring?

When it comes to selling your van to us, our advisors will need you to provide some further information and documentation including:

  • Your Driving Licence
  • A bank statement, this needs to be from the last three months, addressed to your name and your current home address.
  • Vehicle Registration V5 document
  • Service history records (if applicable)
  • Valid finance settlement letter, showing the final settlement figure and finance company bank details (if applicable)
  • All keys - including spares
  • Any accessories related to use of the vehicle, e.g. user manuals, locking wheel nut key, etc.

Can I sell a van on behalf of a company?

Yes, you can sell a van on behalf of a company, you will just need the following:

  • A form of photo identification for the person bringing the vehicle
  • A signed letter from the company director giving authorisation for you to sell on their behalf
  • Company account details (E.g. bank paying in book or a bank statement for the company)
  • Two forms of identification for the business address
  • Both sets of van keys if you have them
  • All service history and MOT certificates you have available
  • V5 logbook / registration certificate

Can I sell a van on behalf of a family member or friend?

Yes, you will need the following documents to complete the sale:

  • Original photo ID for the registered keeper of the van
  • A proof of address for the registered keeper dated within the last nine months (this must match the address on the V5)
  • Letter/Email of authority from the registered keeper of the van stating that they wish to sell the vehicle and naming who will be selling the van on their behalf as authorised to do so
  • The payment must be to the registered keepers UK bank account, so proof of the account details will need to be provided
  • A photo ID for yourself, or the person bringing in the van
