Circus Starr is a touring circus, based in Congleton, boasting world-class, professional artists from across the globe. Founded in 1987, the charity puts on their world-class show right across the country, working with children’s hospices and hospitals, Young Carers, foster children, SEN schools and Women’s Refuges to bring joy into the lives of children, who often have little to look forward to.
Circus Starr is a not-for-profit organisation and hosts circus shows at seventy five venues, three times a year.
1 in 20 children are born with a disability. 1 in 6 children are living in poverty. Circus Starr aims to bring families together for an enjoyable day out some rarely experience and we are delighted to be part of it.
Throughout 2016, for every Motability scheme vehicle we sell across the group, we’ll be donating a pair of tickets, worth £20, for a child and their carer to go to the circus.
On a bright May day, Swansway Group director, David Smyth, and his children, visited a Circus Starr performance to donate £3,600; £20 for each of the 180 Motability vehicles sold across the group in the first quarter of 2016.
David commented, “As a family owned business, we focus our charitable giving on children and young people. Circus Starr brings fun and magic into the lives of children, for whom life is a struggle and I’ve seen the smiles and heard the laughter, which tells me what a fantastic job this charity is doing. I’m proud that Swansway can help more children and their carers have a day to remember”.
