Meet the IT Team

The Swansway IT team is fairly small with 2 member of staff working full time to keep all of Swansway's technology ticking over.

The roles are based at Head Office, but do require travelling to sites when needed.

What skills would I need to join the team?

  • ​Ability to comprehend and understand user related issues.
  • Communicate with users in a non-technical level they can understand.
  • Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of current pc, server and network technologies.
  • Installing new software
  • Installing new hardware (servers, printers, computer workstations, etc.)
  • Setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords Overseeing security of all systems, especially the internet, and installing antivirus protection
  • Fixing network faults
  • Network maintenance
  • Technical support for people using the network
  • Day to day admin and monitoring of network use
  • Planning future improvements, suggesting IT solutions to business problems

What do we look for in an IT Technician?

  • ​Self-motivation
  • Ability to work through issues in a logical manner.
  • Excellent fault finding skills, methodical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work on own as well as part of the IT team
  • Suggesting different IT solutions to business problems.
  • Organisational ability and be able to hit deadline.
  • Ability to communicate with other members of staff in a non-technical way
  • Teamworking
