Dealership Accountant

12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity

We are currently recruiting for a Dealership Accountant based at our Honda dealership in Bolton. The dealership is longstanding and has a loyal customer based and has been refurbished in the last twelve months.

The role will report into a Group Accountant and will work closely with the Dealership Manager to produce monthly management accounts for the site. You will line manage a small team of three and be responsible for their ongoing development. There may be occasions where you are required to support our other Honda dealerships in the division.

As the Dealership Accountant day-to-day, you will be reporting on sales and service financials and be responsible for production of several monthly reports. You will be approachable and offer best practice as well as being a key financial support to the Dealership Manager.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Production of monthly management accounts
  • Weekly cash-flow forecasting
  • VAT calculation & submission
  • Management of the annual audit
  • Annual and periodic budgeting
  • Regular accounts forecasting
  • Maintenance of dealership ledgers
  • Preparation and submission of manufacturer composites
  • Negotiation of any contracts/dealership costs
  • Budget variance reporting
  • All other ad-hoc financial reporting requirements

Your credentials:

We are looking for you to have worked as a Dealership Accountant in the motor trade. You should be a qualified Accountant or should be qualified by experience (QBE). You should be used to getting your sleeves rolled up and you should be used to working in a fast-paced environment. We would also like you to have experience of the following systems:

  • Kerridge
  • ADP Accounts
  • CDK Autoline – revision 8
