In 2003, Les Peters, 37, began work as a Trainee Sales Executive at Blackburn Audi; now 15 years later he’s back, as boss, having taken on the role as Head of Business.
Les returns to the dealership with a wealth of Audi experience having been with the brand throughout his career, “I’ll be honest, when I graduated with a 2:1 in Marketing & Computing I didn’t know what I wanted to do; so I dug out my rucksack and went backpacking around Thailand”,
“When I returned, I started out as a Trainee Sales Exec at Blackburn Audi and I felt very lucky, because I knew I’d found the industry I wanted to work in; I progressed to Transaction Manager at Blackburn Audi before I left to join Stockport Audi in 2007”.
Les continued, “I learnt the business from top to bottom, working my way up until I got my first Head of Business role in 2015, when I became Head of Business at Macclesfield Audi; I was in the same role at Stockport Audi, when the chance to join Swansway Motor Group as Head of Business back at Blackburn Audi came up. It seemed fate had intervened and I knew this role was meant for me”.
“I feel very lucky because I absolutely love my job, I feel privileged to have such a fantastic role and I want to motivate others to achieve their goals. I firmly believe that if you build a great team, support, encourage and develop them then the opportunities are endless”.
“I have my sights set on making Blackburn Audi the best Audi business out there, so watch this space”!
Les is married with two young sons, so doesn’t have a great deal of relaxation time, but enjoys the odd trip to the gym and cycling when he has a spare hour.
“Since returning to Blackburn Audi, I’m seeing people that I sold a car too when I was a young trainee, “ added Les, “I’m really enjoying that and loving being part of a family owned and run business”.
Blackburn Audi is part of the award-winning, family owned Swansway Motor Group.
