Honda Corporate Sales Manager – Swansway Honda Manchester

I left school at 16 and got a job as a baker at award winning Slattery’s in Manchester. I worked there for five years, getting up at 4am in the morning and cycling an eighteen mile round trip; it eventually took its toll and I decided that I wanted to earn a crust somewhere else (pardon the pun)!

I then spent ten years working in sales for Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles, before moving to fleet sales at Gordon’s Honda, Bolton in 2007; of course, things have now come full circle with Honda Bolton becoming part of Swansway group, I know many of the Bolton team very well and it’s great to see them again.

My role at Swansway is very challenging, Honda give us some very aggressive targets to hit each year, but, with the help and support of my management team, we all work towards making these targets achievable.

The most important aspect of my position is making sure that all vehicles get paid for on time. Every time. I have a Group accountant who keeps me on my toes…or should I say, makes me run away every time he hove’s into view! I’m proud of the work I do and always go that extra mile to try and gain a sale; doing something different can always help….we even send an email out to our customers on their birthday, on the fleet side, so they know we’re not just there to sell them a car!

My personal achievement, of which I am very proud, is to see Swansway crowned Top Honda Contract Hire performer for the third year running; and I’ve been awarded Best Honda Corporate Manager, also for the third year running. 2015 was my best year ever, I managed to hit 300 new cars.

Away from work, I’ve been married since August of last year, but been with Natalie for eighteen years! We have a son, Jack, aged 14, we all enjoy going to the Cinema, walking and exploring new places.
