It's Fabulous Five for Anna

When ‘southerner’ Anna’s husband, Steve, was offered his dream job, it meant a move from Milton Keynes and VW Commercial Vehicles loss was Swansway’s gain; as Anna explains:

I loved my job with VWCV, so even though my Mum and sister had re-located to the North West and Steve and I had moved for his job, I kept on commuting to Milton Keynes. After a few months though, I realised it wasn’t much fun, so I started looking for a job nearer to my new home in Cheshire.

Emma Goodall, who I’d worked with at VWCV, was already at Swansway, so when a role came up I jumped at the chance to go for an interview and I was delighted when I found out the job was mine!

In the 5 years I’ve been at Swansway the Marketing Team has grown from 5 to 13, with Used Car, Social Media and CRM teams now in place; we’ve re-built the website twice, tripling the number of visitors; implemented CRM strategy, too many things to mention.

To be honest I still have a real soft spot for vans. I worked on some great campaigns for VW Vans including ‘Evolution of Van’ for the Transporter launch; and everyone in my team knows I love a Volkswagen Transporter!

Many people will wonder why I ever moved on from the alcohol industry I first worked in with Strongbow, Red Stripe, San Miguel, Kumala and Corona to name just a few. I think I’ve been to ever festival and super club in the UK and toured more breweries and vineyards then I can remember!

However, I fell in love with automotive marketing; and really enjoy the change from manufacturer to retailer marketing.Steve and I still live in Cheshire with our beautiful cocker spaniel, Millie, and living so close to my family is amazing.I’ve played the piano since I was 5 and now have the chance to teach my niece and nephew, much to their delight!

For this ‘southerner’, moving North is the best thing I ever did!
