I was originally planning to go to college or university, but then had the opportunity to start as a Customer Service Apprentice with Swansway, at the Crewe Audi dealership and I jumped at the chance.
I decided that I wanted to get straight into a working environment and gain some real hands-on experience, something I couldn’t get from entering further education.
When I think back to myself five years ago I realise I’ve developed massively, this is mainly thanks to the trust which was placed in me and I believe I’ve taken responsibility for myself. I’ve also grown and want to challenge myself; I set myself goals and a career path to follow, in fact you could say I've grown up at Swansway!
The training has been great, both with Audi and from Swansway; for Audi training we usually have to go down to Milton Keynes, so we get to stay in some nice hotels too!
From my original role as an apprentice in customer service I then moved into an accounts role for a short while before moving onto a sales administrator role. Now I’m a Sales Executive a position I’ve had for the last 12 Months.
The highlight for me was being nominated by the Head of Business for a national award, the Motor Trader Rising Star Award in 2015; I won! What was great was that two other Swansway employees won; so, it really just shows what great people and talent we have within the group.
In the future I see myself staying with Crewe Audi and one day hopefully become a manager within the business.
Lots of great things have happened to me in the 5 years I’ve been with Swansway; I’ve never worked anywhere else but I would recommend working here to anyone. Nothing is ever too much trouble or hassle for anyone here; everyone involved in the business, from the valeters to the main board directors genuinely want to listen and resolve problems.
I think I’m probably very lucky that the very first job I have is with a business that has such a positive attitude to everything.
