Dave explained, “I have four children and I can only imagine how devastating it must be told your child is very sick; just heart-breaking. This charity's primary aim is to grant the wishes of children suffering from life threatening or terminal illnesses; it’s such a wonderful thing to do. It’s a small charity and I really wanted to make a difference.
“I have a fear of heights so choosing to skydive to raise funds struck my friends as rather odd, but I wanted to do something that would make people put their hands in their pockets, and challenging myself seemed a great way to do that”, explained Dave.
Dave was supported by his bosses at family-owned Swansway Motor Group, “I work for Stable Vehicle contracts, an online business based in Liverpool and to be honest my colleagues thought I’d taken leave of my senses! I’m not known as the superhero type, more the mild-mannered account manager, so, don’t think they thought I’d really do it “!
His skydive was from 14000 feet, “I won't pretend this was something I looked forward to, as frankly, the thought of hurling myself out of a plane terrified me! But, I really wanted to help; the jump was a heady cocktail of absolutely amazing and unbelievably scary, but I did it”!
So far Dave has raised almost £500.
