I joined Swansway Group in 2008 at Wrexham Volkswagen as General Sales Manager. After working at the dealership for 2 years, the opportunity to progress into a new flagship dealership in Chester arose.
I embarked on the role of Dealer Principal at Peugeot Chester and from there, have gone from strength to strength. In November 2013 we were approached with the opportunity of acquiring a second business in Chester - a long established Fiat and Citroën dealership. At this point, my career took another turn for the better as I was appointed Operations Director of Swansway Chester. Since taking over the second business, we have added both Abarth and Jeep to the brand portfolio.
The most challenging part of my career to date had to be setting up the Peugeot site in 2010 - no staff, no database, no stock, and a sales team that hasn’t sold cars before. Let’s say it kept me busy! It wasn’t all doom and gloom though, behind marrying my wife and having my two sons, making Peugeot Chester the business it is today, with the help of the Directors and the team of course, is also my greatest achievement. All of our fingers are crossed hoping we have the same success story with the second business in Huntington, Chester.
Since joining Swansway, the automotive landscape has changed massively. Here at Swansway our standards and customer service has always been first class. Other dealers and manufacturers are really pushing for a premium service and premium cars. The quality of all brands now are second to none which wasn’t so much the case when I first began my career.
The future is shaping up to be really exiting. I am most looking forward to the new £4.5 million pound dealership for Citroën/Fiat/Abarth/Jeep and Alfa Romeo. This will also come with its challenges but with a team of great people – I am sure we will make the business something we can look back on in years to come and be really proud of.
