Originally released in 2014, the A3 Sportback e-tron was our first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. Redesigned in 2016, the new A3 Sportback e-tron promotes mobility without compromise, combining a 75 kW electric motor with a 1.4 TFSI petrol engine.

Audi e-tron uses an electric motor and a conventional combustion engine. These are able to work independently or in tandem with each other.
This means e-tron models can run purely on the electric motor (ideal for short journeys and city driving), just the combustion engine, or in hybrid mode with both. This offers the driver the performance and reliability of a combustion engine, with the economy of an electric motor.
Plug-in hybrid technology isn’t all that makes the A3 Sportback e-tron special. It comes with a high level of equipment as standard, including MMI Navigation Plus with MMI Touch, Advanced key and Pre-sense Front with pedestrian recognition, as well as technology to change your driving mode with the EV button and also to control when you charge with Audi e-tron connected services.
