Located near Tarporley in rural Cheshire Bunbury FC are a voluntary organisation who welcome all players, regardless of ability, to join in the fun and develop their football, social and team working skills.
The club operate structures training sessions at weekend for boys and girls in the school age groups from Reception to Year 7 and are registered with the Cheshire County FA.
The team is supported by local family owned dealership, Crewe Audi, and they’re now into their second season of supporting the Bunbury boys. Head of Business at Crewe Audi, John Doorbar explained, “As part of a family owned business, the Swansway Group, we aim to focus our community support on children and young people and this football team really embodies community spirit”.
“It’s great to see kids enjoying sport, with the focus on fun and teamwork rather than the all too prevalent ‘win at all costs’ mentality”, added John.
Winning isn’t everything, as Bunbury Youth U14 football team can attest, their coach and Manager, Kevin Wright explained, “We may not be the best team, in fact last season we won just one game; but that’s not we’re all about, the lads just love playing football, they come back week after week, whatever the weather and regardless of whether they won or lost”.
That said, manager Kevin knows the boys will be trying their best when the 2017/2018 season kicks-off with the team playing in the South Cheshire Youth League as Under 14s.
