The 308 GT Line grade brings extra styling to Peugeot’s smart hatchback, as well as more standard equipment. If you are looking for a compact family car with a little more potency, the GT Line trim could well be the solution.
The 308 GT Line features a range of attractive elements, including 18-inch Diamant alloy wheels and power-folding door mirrors encased in high-gloss black shells. Twin exhausts are trimmed with Piano Black detailing, and dark-tinted glass is located in rear side and tailgate windows. LEDs can be found in the car’s headlamps, daytime running lights, sequential indicators and front fog lamps.
The GT Line’s smart cabin features a Mistral Nappa leather steering wheel embellished with red stitching and a GT badge. GT-style floor mats are a feature too, as are aluminium-effect pedals and door sills. Sporty seats are trimmed with faux leather and Oxford cloth with red overstitch detailing. Among the range of standard inclusions are an electric parking brake, power-assisted steering, an electrochromic rear-view mirror, power-operated windows and automatic dual-zone climate control.
A choice of six engines includes a 1.6-litre 118bhp diesel unit which comes with the option of six-speed manual or automatic transmission. This returns as much a 88.3mpg (with manual transmission) and a CO2 emissions figure as low as 98g/km. Offering more power is a 2.0-litre 147bhp option which returns 70.6mpg and 105g/km of CO2 when paired with automatic transmission.
The GT Line’s sound system includes a DAB digital radio and Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity is featured too. A full-colour 9.7-inch touchscreen displays, among other things, the output from a reversing camera. Driver aids include Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Emergency Braking Assistance, Electronic Stability Programme, programmable Cruise Control and Speed Limiter. Multiple airbags and three-point inertia-reel seatbelts are among the passive safety features of a car that has been awarded a five-star rating by Euro NCAP. An ultrasonic alarm, deadlocks, an immobiliser and locking wheel nuts are in place to help keep the vehicle secure.
