For most of us Christmas is a special time of year, a time we celebrate with friends and family, sadly it’s also an expensive time of year. So, imagine if you were alone at Christmas, or living in poverty, perhaps even suffering from domestic violence; it really wouldn’t seem like such a magical time of year and that’s where local charity Family Friends steps in, supporting local families throughout the year and trying to make Christmas just a little bit special.
Santa Gavin Prigmore, more usually found occupying the Business Manager’s desk at Wrexham Volkswagen, was delighted to deliver some festive cheer to Julia Chaplin, co-ordinator of the Family Friends charity.
Santa Gavin commented, “I have a young daughter myself, so, it gave me immense pleasure to be able to brighten up Christmas for other children who are not as fortunate as she is”.
Julia Chaplin added, “A big thank you to Wrexham Volkswagen, these Christmas presents will help the families we support have a more festive Christmas and that’s always our aim at this difficult time of year”.
Wrexham Volkswagen is operated by Swansway Group, a family owned and run business; this is the second year of their Santa Patrol and the group purchased £12,500 of toys sharing them out across their dealerships across the North West and Midlands.
